What is there to do next if your child enjoys cross country running or wishes to get into athletics?

There are several options open to parents' who wish to develop their child's interest in cross country running. The most obvious choice would be to join your local club. Your local Bridgend club is Bridgend Athletics Club who are based just behind Bridgend Recreation Centre (CF31 4AH). The club encourage youngsters to develop an interest in both track and field events. Giving young people the opportunity to try out new and different disciplines adds to the overall experience and enjoyment.

There is also another athletics club based in Bridgend called 'Brackla Harriers.' This club is more focussed towards adult running. There is a strong social flavour to this club which caters for all kinds of runners both serious and fun. 

Just outside Bridgend you have a club based in Porthcawl. This club has recently been formed and is called Porthcawl RunnersLife. The club caters for both Juniors and Adults so is well worth a look if you live in that locality.

You also have the  'Cornelly Striders' club which is another adult focussed club. You can get information on this club via the Welsh Athletics Handbook.
